HOLIDAY PREVENTION TIPS
It’s no secret that job sites are empty during weekends and holidays. Criminals count on making the most of your absence and will capitalize on the opportunities your days off present. Make time as soon as possible to tighten your security so crooks don’t dampen your holiday spirit — and so you can more fully enjoy all the joy the holidays have to offer.
Don’t let the holidays sneak up on you — take steps now to protect your assets!
Walk your yard looking for the following:
- There are no holes in fencing.
- Possible quick-and-easy entry and exit points.
- Weaknesses in the perimeter.
- CPP prevention signage is in place and visible on yard and equipment.
- Parts of your site security system that may not be functioning properly.
- Cameras are clean, working and pointed where they should be.
- Lights are functioning properly.
- Alarm system components are in good working order.
- Gate and entry locks are secure.
- Smaller, towable equipment is secured — remove tires, batteries and keys and make sure to use hitch locks.
- Keys from equipment are removed and stored in a secure location.
- Storage containers are protected — park equipment or use a K-rail to block access.
It is also a good idea to ensure that your emergency contact information is updated and available, and you can always request a site security walk from CPP. Not yet a member? Give us a call.
