“KEEP ON DOING GOOD AND YOU WILL SURELY BE REWARDED.” ASHOK THAKKER

Grandma helped recover your John Deere
Walking home from our house Christmas eve
You might think there’s no such thing as a reward
But as for me and Grandma, we believe

You thought you’d secured your equipment
As you left work in happy anticipation
To spend some time with family and friends
And thoroughly enjoy your holiday vacation

Crooks know to take advantage
Of your absence and deserted work site
And will find a way to filch your equipment
Regardless if it’s day or night

This time the crooks had their eyes
On your brand new John Deere 310E
And with no security measures in site
Stealing it was a breeze

Grandma helped recover your John Deere
Walking home from our house Christmas eve
You might think there’s no such thing as a reward
But as for me and Grandma, we believe

The clueless crooks then set their course
But little did they know
Their escape route would cross paths with Dear Ol’ Grandma
As she gingerly made her way home through the snow

Grandma saw that John Deere
Being towed by an old jalopy
And knew something was fishy
The time was all wrong; the tow job too sloppy

“Who in tarnation would be working Christmas Eve?”
Grandma exclaimed with building suspicion
“I’m guessing that 310E is being stolen –
By some characters on a shady mission”

But as for me and Grandma, we believe

It was then Dear Grandma noticed
CPP’s Hotline number on the equipment
So she reached for her phone to make the call
After snapping a few pictures of the precarious shipment

Grandma calmly shared the details
Of the jalopy and its suspicious load
And enjoyed witnessing the Bad Guys being pulled over
With your John Deere still in tow

Now Grandma would do the “Right Thing”
Regardless of receiving praise
But since she got her CPP Reward Check?
Grandma’s found a new hobby to fill her days 😉
