Stanley the Toolbox Image

(A Crime Prevention Spoof of the Holiday Classic: Frosty the Snowman)

By Melissa Somers

Executive Director, CPP SoCal*

Stanley the toolbox

Was filled with tools you know

Left in the back of his foreman’s truck

And parked next to a backhoe

Stanley the toolbox

And all the tools he held inside

Worked hard each day in so many ways

In their work they took such pride

There must’ve been some evil

In the bad guys’ minds that night

For when they spied the truck alone

They had nary a fright

Thumpity, thump, thump

Thumpity, thump, thump

Across the yard the crooks did run

Thumpity, thump, thump

Thumpity, thump, thump

Stealing tools just for fun

Stanley the toolbox

And the truck that he called home

Were driven in haste, quickly through the gate

When his truck was dumped and left alone.

Stanley the toolbox

Watched in anger and some shock

As his friends Makita, Dewalt and Bosch

Appeared on Craigslist, up for hawk!

Stanley the toolbox

Was relieved when recalling the day

That his owner marked  his toolbox friends

To keep them from going astray.

Thumpity, thump, thump

Thumpity, thump, thump

Stanley’s friends were recovered that day

Thumpity, thump, thump

Thumpity, thump, thump

Due diligence paved the way!
